The French farmer will rarely be seen without his ‘bleu de travail’ workwear. It’s for sale in all the agricultural shops in country areas. I’ve seen second hand sets in the local second hand shop ‘Emmaus’ (a national brand of second hand shops like the ‘Trocs’). I love them and am going to get myself a set – although I doubt I’ll look as dapper as these two! Here’s an interesting blogsite about historical french workwear dating from the 1920s http://lebazardespoilus.tumblr.com

Now the kids have gone back to school in France, it’s a good time to visit these gorges. The weather is perfect 29 degrees today! They’re not really well known by many English people. It’s a fantastic place for canoeing, you can hire the canoe for the day, take a picnic and travel miles down the river Tarn just staring up at the gorges, mixed in with swimming of course. Then get a lift back – brilliant day out!
We camped at La Blaquiere campsite right on the riverside with a beach and swimming. Also there is a lovely little pop-up restaurant where you can get steak and salad and chilled bottles of wine and a little shop that sells the most delicious pate. https://www.google.co.uk/#q=la+blaquiere+camping&safe=off
